While managing multiple projects that relate to the library space, the different parts and pieces have been coming together to gain more clarity about the next steps.
I have begun looking at the AASL standards we have adopted and looking at how these can be adopted across the school.
Part of this project has included inspiration from a Brad Flickinger who started a badging structure for technology skills. Looking at his structure, there are a few ways we can look at applying some of his principles to merge research, ethical use of information and technology to create and publish.
The other idea that has also been feeding into both standards and badging, is Bec’s use of the MISO (Media, Interview, Survey, Observation) and how the skills have the ability to demonstrate different levels of ability, but also to ground the approach in through the research cycles (Super 3 in LES, Inquiry cycle in UES).
There is still some work to do. but it is starting to make sense.
