“I find ways to make lessons intellectually stimulating and relevant”
As an elementary dual language Chinese teacher, I have almost half a class of second language learners of Chinese. I believe that it is important for students to first love the language they are learning. My goal this year is to design lessons that are responsive to student’s interests, background and culture. This will help not only my second language learners but also my native Chinese speakers who grew up in this international environment, to love their own language and culture more! I hope that by doing this, students will be more engaged during lessons and participate actively.
